one of my first photo transfers

Description:
This is one of my first successful photo transfers. I began developing this technique in 2004 in order to mimic the Polaroid transfer film process so that it could be used for digital prints. In a way similar to the Polaroid film, the image was lifted from the backing paper on a thin flexible film and then placed onto another surface, in this case watercolor paper. This movement of the image on a thin flexible film is what gives each of these prints unique waves ripples and uneven edge characteristics.
The three images are part of one image transfer, until this point I had not made a transfer of a larger image, so I used a preprinted page rather than printing a new larger image.
